To go along with the robust, rich flavours of BBQ, you can choose darker beers like stouts, porters, and strong ales, but we believe you’d be better off saving those for the winter. Choose wheat beers, IPAs, pale ales, amber ales, blonde ales, pale lagers, and pale ales instead. We’ve compiled a list of the Top 10 Beers. Scroll to the bottom to see them all.
Top 10 Beers-
1. Fresh Catch from Narragansett
No one will criticise you if you buy a few cans of the famous lager from the company that was featured in Jaws. However, we firmly feel that Fresh Catch is the best summer beer produced by the Rhode Island-based brewery. Dry-hopping with Citra hops adds flavour to this light, approachable blonde ale. It goes well with grilled shellfish, particularly oysters and clams.
2. Sip of Sunshine IPA from Lawson’s Finest Liquids
Lawson’s Finest Liquids Sip of Sunshine is a favourite among hop enthusiasts and tastes just like its name implies. It’s like sipping sunshine composed of just the purest hops. With a strong floral and piney hops flavour, this 8% ABV IPA is a symphony of citrus and tropical fruit. Rich, smoky, slow-cooked brisket goes great with it.
3. Three Floyds Beer Gumballhead Wheat
There are many wheat beers available, but only a select number seem to go beyond the boundaries of the category. One is Three Floyds Gumballhead, an American wheat brew with 5.6 percent alcohol that gains flavour through dry-hopping with Yakima Valley hops and, of course, white wheat. It is renowned for its rich citrus flavour, which pairs remarkably well with salty pork chops.
4. Creature Comforts Classic City Lager
Look no further than the traditional lager if you’re searching for a crisp, refreshing beer to go with a variety of grilled dishes. Creature Comforts Classic City Lager, particularly. The refreshing flavour of this sessionable (4.2 percent ABV) beer makes it a year-round favourite. It pairs well with grilled or smoked chicken and pretty much everything covered in barbecue sauce thanks to its malty, dry finish.
5. Stone Buenaveza
While the most of the beers on this list are rather simple, Stone Buenaveza isn’t. The addition of lime and sea salt gives this standout summer beer, a 4.7 percent Mexican-style lager with Baja influences, its bright, lively flavour. It goes really well with hot chicken wings, drumsticks, and ribs.
6. Cigar City Jai Alai
This well-known IPA with an ABV of 7.5 percent is slightly bitter, piney, resinous, and overflowing with citrus taste. It goes well with any meal roasted over charcoal, especially strip steak and other red meat. It is brewed with six different hops.
7. Zero Gravity Green State Lager
German Pilsner malt, in-house lager yeast, Hallertau Mittelfruh, and Saaz hops are used in the brewing of this refreshing, straw-colored lager. It is the most conventional American beer there is. It’s a terrific beer to pair with juicy, creamy, umami burgers since it’s packed with citrus and Noble hop characteristics.
8. SKA True Blonde Ale
This refreshing blonde ale is given a sweetness boost by the addition of honey produced by the bees of Durango’s Honeyville. It has a malty, slightly sweet, citrusy flavour and ends with a bit of a dry, bitter taste. Spicy grilled meats, lobster, clams, and any other seafood should all be washed down.
9. Allagash White
Few beers are more appropriate for summer than Allagash White. This wheat beer is made in the style of Belgium using malted wheat, oats, and raw wheat. The addition of coriander and Curaçao orange peel gives it more taste. It’s an elegant beer to pair with pulled pork because it’s sophisticated and citrus-heavy.
10. Sierra Nevada Torpedo
Although Sierra Nevada Pale Ale receives the most of the attention, we think the brewery’s “Extra IPA” is actually the ideal BBQ partner. Citra, Crystal, and Magnum hops are used in the brewing of this incredibly piney, herbaceous IPA. It pairs well with smoky meats, burnt hot dogs, and just about anything else you wish to grill.
